Statia Sorgee Obituary

Statia Ervin Sorgee, 45, passed away October 16, 2025. A native of Mooresville, North Carolina, a daughter of Paula Bramlett Ervin and Howard Wayne Ervin; she was an employee of Furman University and was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her parents, are her son, William Blake Sorgee of Greer; two brothers, Brandon Ervin (Krystal) and Clayton Ervin, all of Mooresville, North Carolina; one sister, Kaitlyn Smith (Kyle) of Mooresville, North Carolina, step-mother, Lorraine Ervin of Mooresville, North Carolina; aunt, Tina Lee of Davidson, North Carolina, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Dr. Bob Atwell and Pastor Bob Whitehead. A visitation will be held 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers will be the Washington Avenue College and Career Sunday School Class.
