Sherry Wheeler Obituary

Sherry Ann Rice Grant Wheeler, 74, of Greer, South Carolina, wife of the late Maurice Stephen Wheeler I, passed away September 4, 2025. A native of Barnardsville, North Carolina, daughter of the late Willard Hiram and Julie Mae Franks Rice, she was a retired school crossing guard employee with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office and member of the Greer Church of God. Surviving are one daughter, Christina "Christy" Wheeler of Taylors, South Carolina; one son, Maurice Stephen Wheeler II (Erica) of Inman, South Carolina; two brothers, David Rice (Robin) and Gary Rice all of Barnardsville, North Carolina; one grandchild, Jonnah Murphy; one nephew, Timothy Allen Grant (Andie) and their daughter, Olivia all of Landrum, South Carolina. She was also predeceased by three brothers, J.D. Rice, Paul Rice and Guy Rice Perry; two sisters, Bonnie Dyer and Willie Jean Perry. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Wood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 8, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary.
