Sandra Jones Obituary

It is with great sadness that the Jones family announces the passing of Sandra Ferguson Jones of Simpsonville, South Carolina, on June 14, 2025 at age 83 peacefully. She was born in January 16, 1942 in Bloomington, Illinois, a daughter of the late Hazel Ila Moore of Abbeville, Louisiana. She is survived by her husband, Tom Jones; two sisters, Judith Schuler of Biloxi, Mississippi and Catherine Mouton of Houma, Louisiana; and grandson, John Stamm of Round Rock, Texas. Sandra was described by her family as a fierce, intelligent, and determined woman. She was a member of the daughters of the American Revolution and volunteered at the local women's shelter in Greenville, South Carolina. She received her Bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Sandra continued on to work at Gaffney Cline & Associates Law firm as a personal executive assistant to Mr. Gaffney until retirement. In 1986, she married Tom Jones in Dallas, Texas. She supported Tom's career as a chemical engineer and traveled the world with him to places such as Kuwait, France, Sweden, and Africa. Later in life, she helped to raise her sixteen-year-old grandson, John Stamm, throughout his high school and college life at Colorado State University. She would often host international parties at their home with a wide range of topics and international cuisine. Sandra enjoyed bringing people together, whether for holidays, birthdays, celebrations, or Christmas parties. May her memory bring comfort, peace and inspiration to those who mourn her passing. A visitation will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast, followed by the Celebration of Life service at 3:00 p.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend the service can view the Livestream by clicking on the "WATCH EVENT" button located in the Services section.
