Russell McMakin Obituary

Russell McMakin Wellford, SC Russell Lynn McMakin, 58, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Born in Greer, he was the son of the late William Jones and Aurelia Powell McMakin and the loving husband of Kimberly Newton McMakin. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Survivors also include his son, William "Will" Russell McMakin (Kylie); his mother, Judy Diane Kaminski; a brother, Jack A. Thomas(Tasha); and his grandson, Clyde McMakin. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sydney Elizabeth McMakin. Russell was employed for over 20 years at Boiler Tube Company of America where he made lifelong friends. Russell loved his family, friends, and dogs. He will be missed by many who loved him. A celebration of life will be held at 11AM on Thursday, September 04, 2025, at Wellford Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10AM until 11AM prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Middle Tyger Community District 5 Family Ministries, 84 Groce Road Lyman SC 29365 or Underdog Outreach Project.(see link below) Online condolences can be made at https://www.striblingfuneralhome.net Funeral arrangements were trusted to Stribling Funeral Home, 118 W.
