Roxie Saxon Obituary

Roxie Ann Saxon of Travelers Rest passed away October 20,2025 after a long battle with Leukemia and other related health concerns. The youngest child of Manning and Mary (Walker) Chapman, she spent much of her early life in Laurens, South Carolina before coming to Greenville County as an adult. In her professional life she had a successful career in the janitorial business and later as the managing controller for several thriving retail ventures. An active long-time member of Crosspoint Assembly of God in Greenville, Roxie found no greater joy than cooking large dinners for her church, family or community. Roxie was the loving wife and partner to her husband Leland Barron Saxon Sr for over 40 years before his death in 2017. Together they raised a large family that will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her sons, Allen Campbell (Lori), Johnathan Campbell, Thomas Campbell (Michelle); daughter-in-law, Christie Force; two granddaughters raised in their home, Brittney Campbell and Rebecca Stone-Hawkins (Jake). Additionally, they had multiple other grandchildren, Barron Campbell, Mackey Campbell, John Campbell Jr, Abrielle Force, Lauren Campbell, Lauren Griffin, Isabella Campbell, and "little" Leland Campbell; as well as four great grandchildren. Roxie was a lifelong friend to everyone she knew, including her best friend, Diane League, and lifelong neighbors, Billy and Shannon Burns. Roxie will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Hogan Chapman, brother-in-law Bill Saxon, and youngest son, Billy Dean Campbell. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Friday, October 24th, 2025, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest with the funeral service following at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel.
