Roger Deal Obituary
Roger was born in Dorothy, West Virginia and raised in Youngs Bottom, West Viriginia. He lived a life marked by service, dedication, and devotion to his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant and served in Vietnam. His time in the military reflected the courage and commitment that characterized his life.
Following his military service, he built a long and respected career as a warehouse manager for several companies. Among his professional experiences, his favorite role was working at a plant in Columbia where he helped formulate chemicals used in the farming industry - work he spoke of with pride.
In his later years, Roger devoted himself to many hobbies and interests. He was a man who loved staying busy, and his hands were rarely still. Roger was especially skilled in woodworking and furniture making, enjoyed gardening, and took great pride in completing numerous home improvement projects. He found joy in creating things that would last. One of his greatest pleasures was singing and calling square dances. A particularly cherished memory was having the opportunity to be the opening act for a concert by country legend Tammy Wynette.
Roger is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sabrina Wood Deal. His greatest love was for his wife Sabrina (Beanie). He is survived by his two sons, Roger Dale Deal Jr. and Chandlor Coy Deal; and his grandchildren, Ashley Deal, Roger Dale Deal III (Trey), Jackson Deal, and Ross Deal.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Fletcher Funeral Service from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. A celebration of life will follow beginning at 12:00 pm. A committal service with military honors will begin at 2:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Roger will be remembered for his service to his country, his strong work ethic, the music he shared and his deep love for his family.
