Robert Holcombe Obituary

Robert "Bob" Holcombe, 63, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and leader - known for his fierce determination, competitiveness, sense of humor, and deep love for his family. Born on November 9, 1961, at Edwards Air Force Base, and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, Bob was a standout athlete in high school who went on to graduate from Clemson University in 1985. In 1990, he married Paula Crim Holcombe and together they raised two children, Hunter and Jennifer. Bob never missed a game, practice, or chance to coach and support his kids. Over the course of 35 years with FedEx Ground, Bob worked his way up from a part time Hub Manager to Regional Vice President. His leadership helped drive major expansion across the Southern Region, earning him numerous awards and the deep respect of those he led. Bob loved Clemson football, fishing, and collecting antique signs which he later auctioned off to raise $10,000 for ALS awareness. He is survived by his wife, Paula Holcombe; children, Hunter Holcombe (Molly) and Jennifer Holcombe; and sister, Barbara Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Marcelle Holcombe. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held after the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Touched By ALS at www.touchedbyals.org. Online condolences may be made at www.thewoodmortuary.com.
