Peggy Walton Obituary

Peggy Yates Walton of Simpsonville, SC passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 9:35 a.m. in her home. Peggy was born in Quitman, GA on October 11, 1947. She grew up in Quitman and Tifton, GA and lived the last 50 years in the Greenville, SC area. Peggy loved the Lord, loved her family and friends, and lived her 78 years with the sweetest and most loving heart imaginable. She loved to spend time cooking for her family, and anyone that had an empty stomach, while listening to all who wanted to talk and giving hugs between stirs of the pot. Peggy had a peaceful passing and her family and friends draw comfort that she is with her Lord and Savior, but her kind big heart and gentle presence will be missed by all who knew her. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Tara Slatton (Dale Tessier) of Donalds, SC; her son, Wil Walton (Ajla Kamber) of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Shelby Slatton of Donald, SC, Koty Slatton of Donalds, SC, Irnes Babajic (Tavo Orozco) of Woodstock, GA, Ariela Jimenez (Chris) of Fort Riley, KS, and Zarina Walton of Greenville, SC; and two great grandchildren, Sawyer Slatton of Donalds, SC and Mateo Jimenez of Fort Riley, KS. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Mauldin Methodist Church Cemetery.
