Peggy McCoy Obituary

Peggy Smith McCoy, 88, died Friday, July 11, 2025. Born in Belton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Nina Ashley Smith. She loved to cook southern food, especially yeast rolls and pound cakes - those were her specialties. She was a "homebody" but cherished the time that she was able to spend with her family. Prior to her retirement, Peggy worked at Greenville Roofing and at Greenville Probate Court as a clerk of court. Ms. McCoy was a charter member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church. She valued her Christian walk and loved her church family. She is survived by two sons, Vic (Patti) McCoy and Juan (Laura) McCoy; five grandchildren, Dustin (Jessica) McCoy, Alexis (Austin) Hester, Joshua (Katlin) McCoy, Kristin (Kade) Pittman, and Cody (Olivia) McCoy; and seven great-grandchildren, Joelynn, Georgia, Abigail, and Elijah McCoy, Ayden Hester, and Anndee and Harlan Pittman. Visitation will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Peggy with the family by clicking on the button labeled "Share A Memory".
