Norma Nelson Einhorn, born on November 4, 1945, in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at a hospice facility in
Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 79.
Norma dedicated her life to helping others. As a licensed clinical social worker, she spent her entire career providing compassionate therapy to countless children, offering them healing, hope, and a safe space to grow. Even after retiring from clinical practice, her commitment to service never wavered - she devoted her time to volunteering with women who were survivors of domestic violence, continuing her mission to uplift and empower those in need.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 37 years, Ruediger Einhorn, with whom she shared a life of deep companionship and joy. Norma was the proud mother of Jason Seluktekin, who resides in New York City, and the adoring grandmother of Shahed and Sahel, who brought her endless pride and happiness.
Norma was a cherished sister to John Nelson and his wife Christine, and a beloved aunt to their three sons: Brittan, Peter, and James Nelson. She was predeceased by her sister, Ivy Villafana, and is also remembered with love by her brother-in-law, Jim Villafana. Norma held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephew - Jessica Villafana, Jennifer Villafana Stout, and Michael Villafana - who were lovingly attentive to her throughout her life.
She also embraced her extended family with warmth and grace, including her wonderful stepchildren and their families: Justin, Mark, Annette, and Thomas Einhorn.
Norma will be remembered for her unwavering compassion, her quiet strength, and her lifelong dedication to the well-being of others. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, located at 6710 White Horse Rd,
