Mildred Clardy Obituary

Mildred "Granny" Clardy, 83, of Greenville, beloved wife of the late Curtis Clardy, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Born and raised in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Odell and Mary Hamby Shipman. Mildred was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Greenville and lived a life rooted in faith, love, and compassion. She retired from JP Stevens after over 40 years of dedicated service. Known for her creativity, Mildred had a gift for crafting and took great joy in making handmade treasures for her family and friends. A devoted dog lover, she cherished the companionship of her pets throughout the years. Mildred was a woman of strong faith, remarkable character, and deep family values. She embraced people for who they were and loved unconditionally. Her kindness, warmth, and wisdom left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Above all, Mildred was a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother. She adored her family, and they adored her in return. Her legacy of love and grace will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Mildred will be deeply missed but remembered for the beautiful life she lived and the love she so freely gave. She is survived by son, John Clardy (Wayne Davis); granddaughter, Emily Bonner (William Bonner, Jr.) ; granddaughter, Makenzy Skidmore (Dominick Skidmore); great granddaughter, Lindsey Grace Bonner; sisters, Louise Shipman and Joann Duncan; brother, Raymond Shipman (Doris); and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Alicia Clardy; brothers, Jacob C. Hamby and Edgar E. Shipman.
