Michael Bucci Obituary

Dr Bucci was my Dr for a lesion on skull.

wonderful man wonderful surgeon bedside manner. Perfect he truly will be missed much love to his family at this loss.

I just recently found out that Dr Bucci had passed. When I was 34 years old, (I am now 69), I found out that I had a brain tumor the size of a fist, (found by a Neurologist), who I had started seeing. I of course was shocked, (earlier symptoms had been misdiagnosed by other doctors), and went to tell my wife. Within four hours of learning this our phone rang, my wife answered, and it was Dr Bucci introducing himself, (he was 34 at the time too). He said that he was rescheduling his appointments the next day, and that I needed to be there in the morning for surgery. I can't explain it, but I felt comfortable with him and had the surgery; basically he saved my life. He took out 2/3's of the tumor, (he had to stop because surgery was going to long), and said I would be back on 1 to 3 years. I started having issues in approximately 2 years, went back, and he removed the rest of the tumor. Both time that I was in the hospital the staff had nothing but good things to say about Dr Bucci. Through the years I have thought about him many times, and to tell you the truth he is my true hero.

I´ve known Dr. Bucci for almost 40 years. I worked with him at AnMed. He was an awesome physician, a wonderful man and a good friend. Marjorie, I´m praying for you, Anthony and Addy.

Dr. Bucci was an outstanding physician. During my service as a SC Workers' Compensation Commissioner, Dr. Bucci provided numerous 'Independent Medical Exams' which helped facilitate settlement of claims.

Dr. Bucci has aways been my hero because of the unbelievable way he took care of my Wife for 21d of days at st. Francis with her TBI. He hugged me every timed he and I met. He went way ahead of operating and concern. The community has had a big big big loss

I am a Parkinson´s patient newly diagnosed, and I was aware that Dr. Bucci had this condition as well. I had thought about reaching out to him, but was not certain how to approach exactly. I´ve talked to him on the phone multiple times through the years about various neurosurgical patients. This message is to say that he was a great man and I have a special connection in that I have Parkinson´s as well and I take care of patience with this condition as well as have been practicing family practice for the same period of time he came into Greenville.

I will always be grateful to Dr Bucci he operated on my cervical vertebrae twice once with a new technique he developed. I have full range of motion thanks to him. Prayers for family

I worked several years with Dr. Bucci here at Saint Francis. Very sorry this light left this world. He was a great doctor and person.

I am so heart broken over Dr. Bucci's passing. I knew him when I worked on the 8th floor at Saint downtown pluse he did.my neck fusion surgery in 2022. He was the sweetest and kindest man. Heaven is a little sweeter today cuz of this sweet and remarkable doctor. God bless u Dr. Bucci...

I will always have fond memories of Dr. Bucci. As an Emergency Physician I had many opportunities to consult with Dr. Bucci. He was always incredibly kind and upbeat, even when accepting a horrendous case at 3 in the morning. Whenever I asked who was on call for neurosurgery and the answer was Dr. Bucci, my response was always "Thank God". Condolences to his family, but also to his medical family who will miss him greatly.

Dr. Bucci saved my dad's life after he had a stroke. Thanks to his care and expertise we got another 9 months with him. I am so sorry for your loss!

I'm thankful for the short time I knew Mike, aka Dr Bucci, for the few years we played lacrosse together for the Michigan Lacrosse Club. What a great man, full of life, and gifted in so many ways. I miss you Mike but will never forget your passion, joy for living AND how quick you were as our goalie ... rest in peace my friend!

I knew Dr. Michael (Mike) Bucci for 49 years, going back to when we were lacrosse teammates at the University of Michigan. He was a great competitor and a lot of fun to pay with. He was a fearless lacrosse goalkeeper and a very good athlete. He was also one of the smartest guys I ever knew. We stayed in touch over the years. I visited him several times (in hindsight, not enough times) when he moved to South Carolina. I also saw him in Atlanta when he would attend a medical conference. Michael was a good, kind, decent, honorable man who was a blessing to everyone around him. He will be terribly missed by me and many others. That alone is a strong measure of the man and the life he lived. We offer sincere condolences to his family and friends. RIP old friend.
