Marvin Yarbrough Obituary

Marvin Yarbrough
Duncan, SC
Marvin Manly "Red" Yarbrough, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 30 at Palmetto Patriots Veterans Home. Husband to Peggy for 61 years. Daddy to Dink Howard (Bull), Dee Miller (Jim) and Deena Greer, (Greg). Kelly Mills (special niece). Papa to Katie Crispin (John), Clay Howard (Emily), Kelsey Brasher (Tyler), Chandler Greer (Sydney), Claire Garrett(Wilson). Great Grandfather to Jack and Charlie Crispin, Boone and Will Manly Greer, Millie and Linden Brasher. Uncle to special nieces and nephews.
Marvin was born in Alabama to Bernice and Burl Yarbrough, January 3, 1935. His parents along with siblings preceded in death were: Sisters, Martha Noles and Ruth Mills, Brother WC Yarbrough. Marvin was a hard worker and great provider for his family. After the Air Force, his career included a truck driver, Texaco Station owner, Spartanburg County Sheriff, Spartanburg County Environmental Services from which he retired in 2015. Marvin enjoyed farming, raising chickens, making Purple Martin Gourd Houses, rabbit hunting, fishing, gardening, watching Price is Right, Let's Make a Deal and Gunsmoke. Most of all, he loved his family and the Lord. He was faithful in church and loved reading his Bible every day. He quietly helped others in need, helped grandkids in college, gave money to great grandkids education and tithed regularly to his church. He was a 50 year+ member at Reidville Masonic lodge 102 and also a Greenville Shriner. The family appreciates the legacy he leaves and is blessed to have had such a great Dad/Papa. The Family wishes to extend our gratitude to the staff at Palmetto Patriots for the care and respect given to him this past year. Many thanks to Family Hospice of Greenville for being such angels.
Receiving of Friends will be 10AM until 11AM followed by a service at Burnsview Baptist Church in Greer. Funeral services will begin at 11AM. Family Graveside at Abner Creek will be private.
The "Corner"at Roger's Bridge Road has lost a pillar of the community but Marvin has traded it for a mansion he has now in glory! John 14:1-3
