Marshall Snively Obituary

After a long and fulfilling life, Marshall Eugene Snively passed away on September 30, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on June 22, 1938, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Lloyd and Martha Horne Snively. Marshall left Ohio where he lived many years and relocated to South Carolina in 2016 to join his daughter Angela and his son in law, Ed, who was also his good friend and fishing buddy. A 1956 graduate of Lordstown High School, Marshall was especially proud of his achievements with the Warren District Boy Scout Troop 20. As an Eagle Scout, he was recognized in the Court of Honor, where he was awarded the Bronze Palm. Marshall dedicated 42 years to the steel industry, first at Republic Steel, WCI and later retiring as a metallurgist from LTV Steel. His favorite pastimes include inventing helpful gadgets, woodworking, gardening, puzzling, but nothing brought him greater joy than fishing. Marshall's legacy of love will live on through his wife Anna Marie Snively, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage; his children, Gary Snively of Medina, OH, Angela Shafer (Edward) of Greer, SC, and Sam Minotti, of Spring Hill, FL. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Aaron Snively (Emma), Sarah Sayre (Tim), Rick Minotti (Kari), Jessica Verderame, and Keith Shafer (Jennifer); and nine great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy in his life. He is also survived by his brother, David Snively (Elaine) of Scottsdale, AZ. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Martha Snively, as well as a daughter, Kelly Snively. In honor of Marshall's life, a Rosary will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church on Friday, October 10th at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in Graceland East Memorial Park. Those who knew Marshall will forever cherish the impact of his incredible capacity to love, his unending kindness and his optimistic outlook. His life was an inspiration, demonstrating until the end that love is the only thing that truly matters. See you later alligator...
