Margaret Cecile Nealon, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William L. Nealon, Sr.; her daughter, Elaine M. Nealon; and her parents, Leo and Anna Perreault. She is survived by her children, William L. Nealon, Jr. of Coral Springs, FL, Donald G. Nealon (Elizabeth) of Kingsport, TN, and Patricia A. O'Reilly of Simpsonville, SC. Margaret was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren, Jason Moore, Liana Matthews (Joseph), Kenneth Nealon, Krystina Nealon, Christopher Nealon, Benjamin Nealon, Alyssa Nealon, Caitlin Brandon (James), Christine O'Reilly, Matthew O'Reilly, and Jennifer O'Reilly. She was blessed with six great-grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Lorenzo, Theodore, Henry, Easton, and William.
Born on December 2, 1931, in Bennington, Vermont, Margaret grew up in Hoosick Falls, New York. After graduating from nursing school, she worked as a Registered Nurse before marrying her high school sweetheart, William "Bill", who had recently completed Air Force Officer Cadet Training. Together they built a life of love, service, and adventure, raising four children across various locations, including England and Texas, as part of their military life. Margaret embraced the challenges and joys of military family life with resilience and grace, often leaning on the strong bond she shared with other Air Force wives, many of whom became lifelong friends.
Margaret possessed a warm and social spirit, deeply enjoying the company of others. She loved gathering with family, friends, playing bridge, and golfing. Margaret and Bill's shared passion for golf led to a cherished tradition of attending the Masters Tournament annually beginning in 1980, a tradition Margaret proudly continued to this year. Even in her later years, Margaret remained active and connected. She found joy in community and conversation, whether it was chatting with neighbors on her daily walks or joining outings with her "Young at Heart" group.
At the heart of Margaret's life was her steadfast Catholic faith. She was a devoted parishioner, regularly attending Mass and offering her time in service to the church. Her strong spiritual foundation not only shaped her life but also influenced the values she passed on to her children and grandchildren.
