Marcelle Jones Obituary

It is with a blend of sadness and joy that we celebrate the life of Marcelle Jones, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away on July 16, 2025, in Spartanburg, SC at the age of 86. Born on November 18, 1938, Marcelle dedicated her life to her family, nurturing them with unwavering love and support. An active member of St. Luke Catholic Church, she exemplified the spirit of community and faith, touching the lives of many around her. Marcelle was known for her remarkable passion for cooking, bringing joy to her loved ones through the gift of good food from cultures around the world. Whether she was preparing a family dinner or hosting gatherings, her kitchen was a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aroma of her culinary creations. Marcelle was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence Jones. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Catherine Johnson; son-in-law, Allen Johnson; and her cherished grandchildren, Jake and Trevor Johnson. They, along with numerous extended family members and friends, will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. A Celebration of Marcelle's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Marcelle's honor, in recognition of her devotion to her faith and community. Let us remember Marcelle Jones not with sadness, but with joy and gratitude for the beautiful moments shared and the love she gave so freely.
