Lucille Barnette Obituary
Wellford, SC
Lucille Knighton Barnette, 95, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 04, 2025. Born in Roebuck, she was the daughter of the late Marion Joseph and Lillian Mae Parris Knighton and the wife of the late Joseph Harold Barnette. She was previously employed with Startex Mills for 21 years. Lucille was a member of Duncan Church of Christ since 1956.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammie Jolley and her husband, Glenn and Susan Thrasher and her husband, David; a son, Lamar Barnette and his wife, Donna; two brothers, Donnie "Pete" Knighton and Terry Knighton; a sister, Betty Nelson; five grandchildren, Tracie Duncan (Tim), Michael Jolley (Jenna), Brianna Barnette, Jasmine Blackstock and Scott Barnette; and three great-grandchildren, Carter Jolley, Sadie Duncan and Mackenzie Jolley.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Dot Berkes, Beattie Medlock, Margaret Lamb and Shelby Pearson; and three brothers, Wilbur Knighton, Cliff Knighton and Marvin Knighton.
Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, June 07, 2025, at the Duncan Church of Christ with Minister Michael Lamb officiating the service.
The family will receive friends from 10AM until 11AM prior to the service in the church.

Lucille and I were classmates in Duncan Elementary in the 1930s. We were both surprised to learn my new husband was her first cousin, Earl Tucker! We didn't see each other often as we grew older except at funerals. We had some good memories. God has truly Blessed us giving both of us 90+ years! I am praying for her family That God will give you the peace that touches your hurting hearts! God Bless You!
