Lois Vick Obituary

Lois All Vick, 83, of Greenville, Entered the Church Triumphant on January 27, 2025. Born in Winnsboro, South Carolina on January 18, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Anthony and Lois Watson All. A graduate of Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, New Jersey, she continued her studies at Columbia College and Valparaiso University where she studied Theology with a special interest in Youth Ministry. She served the Lord alongside her husband, the Reverend Calvin T. Vick, in congregations in Mantua, Ohio and Greenville, South Carolina, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. For all of her church life she was a member of the choir, a dedicated Sunday School teacher, worked with the Youth, and was a leader in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She also enjoyed twenty years of service working with the students at Berea Middle School. More than any of these passions, she most loved being a mother and grandmother, spending countless hours hosting "Nana School." Lois had a very generous and kind heart and touched many lives. She is survived by her three daughters, Becky Wakim and husband Paul, Christy Mooney and husband Scott, and Katie Bennett and husband Bobby; one son, Ted Vick and wife Betsy; her sister, Jo Eskridge and husband Frank; her sister-in-law, Rosemary Horvei; twelve grandchildren, Paul Wakim and wife Maddy, Ben Wakim, Olivia Wakim, Davis Vick, McCay Vick, Eloise Jacques Vick, Emma Mooney, Lily Mooney, Sarah Mooney, Macie Bennett, Sadie Bennett, and Cal Bennett. Lois (Aunt Bumpty) is also survived by her beloved niece and nephews and their families. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Calvin Vick; her parents; and her brother, Tony All. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends. A visitation will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 300 Oneal Road, Greer, South Carolina 29651. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
