Linda Wilson Hopkins Obituary

Linda Jean Wilson Hopkins, born August 19, 1939 in Newnan, GA passed from this life to the next on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. She was predeceased by her father, Euell Barker Wilson, her mother, Wilma Stallins Wilson, and her husband, Dr. Gerald T. Hopkins.
She is survived by her sister, Patsy Wilson Bernhard; daughter, Cynthia Hopkins McDougall; son, Timothy "Lee" Hopkins (Jan); and ten grandchildren, Jessica McDougall Tran, Rachel McDougall Nishimura (Chad), Charis McDougall Hill (Luke), Asher McDougall (Haley), Emily Hopkins Sargent (Michael), Corey Hopkins (Neal), Lydia Hopkins Hubka, Sophia Hopkins Henry (Taylor), Elizabeth Hopkins Guthrie (Seth), and Caleb Hopkins. Linda is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
Linda and her husband Jerry, met at the age of 14 at Mountain Gap camp meeting where she was playing piano. They reunited later at Emmanuel College, married and began ministry. They pastored churches together in Bridgeboro, Smyrna and Tallapoosa, GA. After nine years pastoring in Toledo, OH, they took a church in Greenville, SC, where they started and pastored New Life Christian Fellowship until retirement. She was always faithfully by her husband's side through all the years.
Linda always used her talent playing piano and organ. She was a talented singer, artist, seamstress, decorator, choir director, floral arranger, and cook. Linda left her unique touch everywhere she went.
The family wants to thank all of the National HealthCare staff for the good care of Linda through the last 5 years, letting her make her mark there as well.
The family will have a private graveside service to honor Linda at a later date.
