Linda Shaw Obituary

Linda Jean Shaw, formerly Scolaro, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 14, 2025, due to vascular dementia.
She was born on June 6th, 1948, in Hackensack, New Jersey, to the late Sam and Christine Scolaro. She was the eldest of the Scolaro children with sisters, Michelle and Marie; and brother, Mark.
Linda grew up in Fairfax, Virginia, and graduated from Fairfax High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in English from George Mason University. On November 10th, 1973, she married Michael Shaw. Together they raised their two children, Noelle and Andrew, in Woodbridge, Virginia, before retiring to Simpsonville, South Carolina in 2005.
A devoted Catholic, Linda was actively involved in her church through volunteer work and small groups. She found pleasure in gardening, reading, music, bird watching, social events, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She especially enjoyed time with her four grandchildren, Dante, Emery, Dylan, and Caleb. She will be lovingly remembered for her bright smile and contagious laughter, which brought joy to all who knew her.
In addition to her beloved husband, Michael, she is survived by her children, Noelle Mallon (Paul) and Andrew Shaw (Quinn Porter); her cherished grandchildren, Emery and Caleb Mallon, and Dante and Dylan Shaw; and her siblings, Michelle Anderson (David), Marie Caras (Bobby), and Mark Scolaro. As well as her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Peggy Scolaro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, followed by an inurnment at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Linda's memory to her favorite cause, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
