Kenneth VandenBerghe Obituary

Kenneth Charles VandenBerghe, 87, passed away October 2, 2025, at his home in Taylors, South Carolina. Born on June 10, 1938, in Perham, Minnesota, to the late Ray and Elizabeth VandenBerghe. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran serving as a flight operations dispatcher with the Army support. He entered the Army in 1961 and was Honorably discharged in 1964. He retired as a salesman for Fuller Brush Co., Mutual of Omaha, Rochester Midland and War Machine. He was the owner and operator of Greer Mail Services for years. Mr. VandenBerghe was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church, Taylors, South Carolina. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed watching football with his grandsons. Mr. VandenBerghe was an avid beekeeper who loved selling honey. He loved working at his son's machine shop and eating at Wild Ace. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dean Hylton VandenBerghe of the home; a son, Christopher Gene VandenBerghe (Denise) of Greer, South Carolina; a daughter, Anne Cureton (John) of Taylors, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Dalton Malecha, Aiden Cureton, and Sawyer Cureton; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Charles VandenBerghe, Jr. and biological and adopted sisters. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2025, at Taylors First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Wes Henderson and Rev. Jerry Long. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 12:45-1:45 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2025, at Taylors First Baptist Church Welcome Center.
