Kenneth McDaniel Obituary

Kenneth Wayne McDaniel passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on December 16, 1944, in Greenville, South Carolina, Kenneth was a dedicated machinist in the textile industry, proudly contributing his skills at Vermont American and Celanese Fibers. Kenneth honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a period that defined his character and commitment to service. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose devotion to his family was evident in all that he did. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sandra McDaniel; daughters, Karen Avery (Paul), and Julie McDaniel; grandson, Christopher Avery; and his cherished sisters, Frances Cowart and Kathy Marcan; as well as his ever-present canine companion, Patches. Each of them will carry forward the legacy of love, strength, and resilience he instilled in their lives. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Inez McDaniel; as well as two sisters, Angie McDaniel and Mary McDaniel. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 1:00PM-1:45PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes-Southeast Chapel, where the funeral service will follow at 2:00PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Kenneth's spirit of giving and compassion for others.
