Kelvin Broadhurst Obituary

Kelvin LeVel Broadhurst, Sr., affectionately known as "Big Kel," was born on, August 2, 1978, to the late Katie Broadhurst in Dudley, North Carolina. He was a proud graduate of Southern Wayne Senior High School. He continued his education, he attended Fayetteville State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He later built a successful career at Milliken, where he served as a Chemical Lab Supervisor. Kelvin was known for his calm and relaxed demeanor. At heart, he was a true country boy and outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and watching sports. He was a dedicated fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Carolina Panthers. His favorite color was Tar Heel blue. Above all, he was a loving and devoted father, a role he cherished most deeply. He was preceded in death by his mother, Katie Broadhurst. Left to cherish his legacy of love are his beloved son, Kelvin Broadhurst, Jr. of Wellford, SC; siblings, Cedric (Tasha) Broadhurst of Richmond, VA and Michael (Monique) Broadhurst of Fayetteville, NC; his aunt, Maggie (George) Faison of Goldsboro, NC; his godbrother, Terry Leonard, Sr.; his godmother, Dorothy Parks; his godson, Terry Leonard, Jr.; his son's mother, Latoya Robinson Lyles; along with a host of nephews, other relatives, and friends. On September 2, 2025, Kelvin peacefully transitioned from this life at his home. He will be profoundly missed, yet his presence will forever remain in the lives of those who were blessed to know him, love him, and share in his journey.
