Kathleen Litzinger Obituary

Kathleen Marie Litzinger, 63, wife of Karl Litzinger, died Friday, August 22, 2025. Born in St. Louis, MO and living in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of Dolores Belcher Flannery and the late Martin Flannery, Sr. Kathy was a strong woman of faith. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, including Women's Bible Study, the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, Office Angels, and Christian Formation. She loved talking about her faith and her family remembers her excitedly sharing what she learned in Bible Study and drinking coffee with her devotional every morning. She was a member of the Greenville Master Gardeners, and loved to create landscape designs for family, friends, and the parish grounds. She was an avid cook, enjoyed golfing with her Holly Tree friends, and most importantly was the greatest wife and the best mom in the world. Whether it was organizing Clemson tailgates, having dinner parties, or just visiting to help with garden plans, Kathy always found ways to spend time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Karl Litzinger; her mother, Dolores Flannery; her children, Timothy (Sarah Grace) Litzinger and Ryan (Sydney) Litzinger; her siblings, Michael (Anne) Flannery, Marty (Diane) Flannery, and Karen (Dan) Rafferty; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Chata. The Recitation of the Rosary will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast with a visitation following until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. Family and friends are invited to a reception at the church directly following the inurnment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vicent de Paul Society at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Kathy shared carpool duties with our family for years- smiling brightly (as usual) as we picked up the boys in the am. Always positive, ready to laugh- pure joy. Always fond memories-
