Kathleen King Obituary

Kathleen Hamby King, widow of Charles Morris King, 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Mrs. King was born in Greer to the late Luther Hamby and Clara Fuller Hamby. She was a lifetime member of Fountain Inn Wesleyan Church where she served as the church pianist. Kathleen was a graduate of the Greenville Technical College nursing program and retired as a LPN with National Health Care of Laurens. She was an advocate for children with special needs and served many years as a volunteer at the J.C. Hope Camp in Clemson. Kathleen loved her family and cherished her roles as "Grandma" and "Aunt Kitty".

Surviving are a son, Morris "Mac" King II with wife Janis; two daughters, Kathy Baughman with husband Sam, and Kim Mahaffey with husband Mark; a daughter-in-law, Linda King; thirteen grandchildren, Jodi Whitfield, Gina Thompson-Leonard and husband J.P., Adrienne MacLeod and husband Corey, Corey Cothran, Alicia Mahaffey, Asa Mahaffey, Kyle King and John King; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. She was predeceased by a son, Mike King; a brother, Clyde Hamby; and a grandson, Troy Mauldin.

Visitation will be 11 – 12 noon Monday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Graveside services will begin at 1 o'clock Monday at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
