Katherine Jones Obituary
A native of Gaffney, daughter of the late John Jarvis and Nettie Hudgins Bates, she was the owner and manager of Antiques on Trade, formerly known as Cooper Furniture Company, and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Emily Sims of Greenville; two grandchildren, Bo Sims (Meredith) and David Sims; and six great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Harper, Olivia, Veronica, Jasper, and Augusta.
She was predeceased by a brother, John Hudgins Bates and a son-in-law, Dan Sims.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Memorial United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. David Smith. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the church.
The body will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, and 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at their respective homes.
Memorials may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 N. Main St., Greer, SC 29650.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Tammy McKinney, whose faithful care for Mrs. Jones over 15 years grew into a loving mother-daughter relationship.
