Karen Ray Obituary

On August 23, 2025, Karen Elaine Ray (Bobek) was called home by her savior Jesus. Born on March 1, 1959, Karen was the youngest daughter of Mattie Christine Boobek (Turnage) and Francis Bobek. She graduated from Richfield High School in Waco, TX in 1977. On October 6, 1981, she gave birth to her son Bryan H. Ray.

Karen never met a stranger. Her smile was an open door, and her heart a place of welcome. Wherever she went, she made friends with ease, leaving behind warmth, laughter, and the quiet comfort of genuine kindness. She was loved deeply by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Karen's heart embraced all living creatures, but it was with dogs that her soul walked in step. They followed her like loyal shadows; drawn to the gentle spirit they instinctively recognized as one of their own. Her compassion was effortless, her presence a balm.

She was kind and thoughtful, beautiful both inside and out. Her faith in the Lord Jesus was unwavering-she gave Him glory for every good thing in her life, never hesitating to share His love with others.

Of all the roles she held, being a mother was her greatest joy. Her son was her heart's treasure, and she made sure he always knew he was the most precious person in her world. She was, simply, the best mom a boy could ask for.

Karen's legacy is one of love, grace, and quiet strength. She will be sorely missed, but her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.

Karen is preceded in death by her mother and father, Christine and Francis Bobek; granddaughter, Samantha Ray; and her brother, David Bobek.

She is survived by her son Bryan H. Ray, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Ray; three grandchildren, Hannah C. Ray, Bryan H Ray II, and James H. Ray.
