Judy Grooms Obituary

Judy Carolyn Grooms was born January 26, 1949, in Trenton, Georgia, to the late William Franklin Hart (Hop) and Bessie Louise Cope Hart (Momma Hart). She grew up in Flatrock, Alabama, for her first few years of life until moving to Charleston, SC, with her sister, Betty King, at the age of 11. Judy ended up meeting the love of her life in Charleston, SC, in the 1960's where they ended up getting married in December of 1967. Judy was the owner of The Little Country Store on 78 and Dorchester, where she served the community with homemade sandwiches, grocery items, car parts, and fishing supplies, and poured her heart into it from 6 am to 10 pm 6 days a week. You could even open a tab if you were a local. In 1994, Bobby and Judy moved to Gray Court, SC, and ran a family business. Judy and Bobby would have been celebrating 58 years of marriage this coming December. Judy's life was a testament to the values of family and faith. For many years, she dedicated herself to being a wonderful Wife, Mother, Nanny, and Friend. She was a member of the Gray Court Church of God of Prophecy. She loved to go to Church, different tent revivals, and church singings. One of her favorite things was taking yearly trips to Edisto Beach with her family and friends, which was a wonderful childhood memory for her children, spending the summers camping at Edisto. She loved working in her garden and always had an immaculate yard. Judy cherished the time spent with her family. Those who knew Judy would describe her as heartfelt, loyal, and faith-filled. Her unwavering faith guided her through life's challenges and was a source of inspiration to those around her. Her memory will be held dear in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. On Saturday, October 11, 2025, Judy Carolyn Grooms departed this life and entered into Eternal Rest at the age of seventy-six.
