Joyce Simpson Obituary

Joyce Alyson Berger Simpson, 63, passed away October 16, 2025. A native of Luverne, Alabama, daughter of the late James Andrew and Virginia Ann Kidd Berger, she was a loving wife, mother, and grammy, a member of Greer First Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Glyn Carson Simpson of the home; two sons, Stuart Jack Simpson of Fairfield, California and Spencer Glyn Simpson (Lindsay) of Guyton, Georgia; two daughters, Stacey Joy Freely (Phillip) of Greer, South Carolina and Savannah Jill Root (John David) of Lyman, South Carolina; a sister, Janet McCready (David) of Evans, Georgia; and eight grandchildren, K.J., Liam, Landon, Jack, Carson, Elora, Sofia, and LunaRae. She was predeceased by four sisters and a granddaughter, KatieMae. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Greer First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Doug Mize and Dr. Todd Stewart. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
