John Ferguson Obituary

John Lambert Ferguson, the loving husband of Sandra Fleming Ferguson, went to Heaven on July 24, 2025. He was born in Bloomington, Indiana. John was a son of the late Lee and Henrietta Ferguson. At the age of 18, John joined the U.S. Navy, and served proudly throughout his successful 22 year career. John was full of joy and peace. He loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. John will be sorely missed; leaving a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. He was very proud of his family and loved and cared for them with true dedication, especially his wife of 65 years. For which his family will be grateful for the rest of their lives. John is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra; his daughter, Donna Slaton and her husband, Hunter Slaton, Jr.; his son, Joe Ferguson and his girlfriend, Veronica Moore; his beloved grandchildren, Samantha Slaton, Hunter Slaton, III and his fiancé, Carly Lively; his sister, Marybelle Davis and his brother, Billy Ferguson. A life celebration will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Greenville Humane Society at www.greenvillehumane.com/donate or to the Disabled American Vets at help.dav.org/donate.
