John Elledge Obituary

John M. Elledge, 85, of Simpsonville, husband of Freida Babb Elledge for 62 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 13, 2025 while surrounded by his family. Born in Ware Shoals, Mr. Elledge was a son of the late John Henry & Thelma Finley Elledge. He served our country in the United States Navy, earned his private pilot license and enjoyed flying, coached Little League football, and built and ran a successful small business. In addition to his wife, Freida, he is survived by their sons, Chris Elledge (Amy), and Rod Elledge (Christa); three grandchildren, Caitlin Elledge (Ryan), Abby Seelbinder (CJ), and Nicolette Munroe (Ian); three great-grandchildren, Ander Wright, Noura Wright, and Amelia Munroe; one sister, Louise Thomas; and one brother-in-law, Steve Peevler. Mr. Elledge was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert 'Bob' Elledge, and one sister, Sara Morris. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cannon Byrd Funeral Home – Fountain Inn, 1150 N. Main St., Fountain Inn with Dr. Bobby Howell of Warrior Creek Baptist Church in Gray Court officiating. Entombment will be private for the family. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation via t2t.org.
