Jo Brockman Obituary

Jo Ellen Lynch Brockman, 86, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at the age of 86, in Columbus, NC. Born in Greer, SC, to Henry Eugene Lynch and Eula Mae Greer Lynch. She was the wife of the late William H. "Bill" Brockman. She was a longtime member of Sharon Methodist Church. She retired from W. R. Grace Cryovac in Duncan, SC.
She will be remembered for her love of all God's creatures. She was a devoted fan of The Atlanta Braves and never missed watching them play. She knew the names of all the players; her favorites were Austin Riley and Marcela Ozuna. She was a very talented seamstress and crafter. She was known for the beautiful cross stitched, hand sewn pillows she would make to sell at the "Holiday Fair" every year.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie B. Edwards and her husband Nelson W. Edwards; grandchildren, Robbie L. Edwards (Kimberly) and Christian L. Edwards (Danelle); a great-grandson, Maverick W. Edwards; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sweet loving cat, Sam.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Brockman, three brothers, Robert Henry Lynch, William Doyle Lynch, and Daniel Lefoy Lynch, and a sister Barbara Ann Ferguson.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 2, 2025, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at Sharon Methodist Church with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Preacher Lynn Stewart and Pastor Scott Allen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank all those that took great care of her at LaurelWoods. She had many friends there that she loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303, in her honor.
