Jimmy Allison Obituary

Jimmy Ray Allison, 80, passed away July 19, 2025. A native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, son of the late Ephraim Floyd Allison and Carrie Ruth Hammett Allison Bradley, after 22 years he retired from the United States Air Force, then went on to spend 20 years with Greenville Hospital System. Mr. Allison was also a member of Vineyard Church of God, Spartanburg. Surviving are his wife, Virginia "Jenny" Walker Allison of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Tim Alexander of Greer, South Carolina; and a grandson, Bradley Alexander. Mr. Allison was predeceased by a brother, Mack Allison and three sisters, Francis Johnson, Polly Hixson, and Betty Ballew. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Vineyard Church of God, 251 South Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, South Carolin 29301, conducted by Rev. Ronald Chavis, Rev. Paul Allison, and Rev. Roger Allison. Burial will follow with full military honors in Wood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2025, at the church. Memorials may be made to Upstate Community Hospice House, 260 Fairwinds Drive, Landrum, South Carolina 29356. Online condolences may be made to www.thewoodmortuary.com.
