Jimmie Jones Obituary

On Saturday morning, auguat 9, 2025, Mrs. Jimmie Norris Jones entered into eternal rest. Born in Knoxville, TN to the late William Carey and Nannie Jones Norris, she was raised in Spartanburg County. After completin her education, Jimmie relocated to New York City where she began a successful career as a cosmetologist. There she met she met Mr. Launey Jones, Sr. whom she wed. They enjoyed a long, loving and successful marriage until his death in 2006. In the 1980's, Jimmie and Launey moved back to Spartanburg where she continued her business until the end of her life. She was a faithful, loyal, and proud member of the Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist who fiercely loved the Lord and answered her Church's and her God's call. Jimmie was dependable, steady, and knew how to handle business. She loved her family and her friends and was aloways there for them in times of need. Her survivors include her nephews, Arthur Lewis and Tracy Norris, great niece Nicole Lewis, great nephew, Jermaine Lewis; and cousins raised in the home, Arrie Fowler, Lillie Pearl Gibson, Ruby Lillie, Mae Frances Baxter, Nora Mae Anderson, George Edward Lillie, Elizabeth Farr, Carol Young, and Janet Young, and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Kay Frances"Kitty" Collins, Catherine Verna Lewis, and Doris Norris; and nieces, Nan "Buddy" Lewis, Sharon Lewis, and Darlene Norris.
