Jennet McElreath Obituary

Jennet Chapman McElreath, 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Simpsonville, SC, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. She is preceded in death by her beloved and devoted husband, Lewis Calvin McElreath; her father, William A Chapman; her mother, Annie Davenport Chapman; and her sister, Merle Chapman Bryant. She is survived by her children, Barry McElreath (Bill Bates), Terrie M Barker (Drew), and Hope M Tedards (Wright); and two grandchildren, Andrew Barker and Corey Barker (Tyler). One of her absolute favorite things was to gather around her old farm table and share a meal with her children and grandchildren, as her family was the greatest joy in her life. Jennet was avid about antiquing and took pride in attending AKC Dog Shows with her English Bulldogs. Last, but certainly not least, she was a devoted SC Gamecock fan. Go Cocks! Presiding Ministers are Pastor Jennifer Fouse Sheorn and Pastor Tandy Taylor. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast with the funeral service directly following at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Following the service, she will rest at Cannon Byrd Memorial Park in Fountain Inn, SC.
