Jean Elaine Knecht, 85, beloved wife of the late Charles "Jap" Knecht of Easley, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
Born in South Carolina on September 22, 1940, Elaine was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Edna Waldrop. She was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and cherished every moment spent with them.
Elaine and Charles shared 50 years of marriage, building a loving and close-knit family together. She was an avid gardener who found great joy in tending to her beautiful flowers. Elaine also had an eye for style and enjoyed shopping for clothing and home décor, always creating a warm and welcoming home.
Above all, Elaine had a deep faith in God and allowed Him to guide her life. She truly possessed a servant's heart, living with kindness, grace, and devotion to those she loved.
Elaine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of faith, love, and family will forever remain.
She is survived by her beloved great-granddaughter, Alexus Mosley; son-in-law, Glen Ledbetter; granddaughter, Nikki Mosley; grandson, Calub Browder; nieces, Dodie Rhea and Teresa Wicks; and nephews, Steve Rhea, Andy King, and Mark King; as well as numerous cousins.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Pam Ledbetter; and sister, Betty Robertson.
Elaine's life will be honored on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Pendleton Street Baptist Church, with visitation prior at the church from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery West.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made in Elaine's memory to Pendleton Street Baptist Church, 601 S Pendleton St.,
Easley, SC 29640.
