Jean DeHart Obituary

Jean Walter DeHart, 89, wife of the late Harold Roger DeHart, passed away October 14, 2025. A native of New Jersey, daughter of the late Charles Percy and Marie Abbott Walter, she was a retired employee of South Carolina Department of Education and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Richard "Ricky" Walter DeHart (Cheryl) of Greer, South Carolina; a daughter, Deborah Lawton (Keith) of Honea Path, South Carolina; seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Walter Haitz. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Pastor Rick Schubert. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4899 Jordan Road, Greer, South Carolina 29651. Online condolences may be made at www.thewoodmortuary.com.
