Jean DeHart Obituary

Jean Walter DeHart, 89, wife of the late Harold Roger DeHart, passed away October 14, 2025. A native of New Jersey, daughter of the late Charles Percy and Marie Abbott Walter, she was a retired employee of South Carolina Department of Education and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Richard "Ricky" Walter DeHart (Cheryl) of Greer, South Carolina; a daughter, Deborah Lawton (Keith) of Honea Path, South Carolina; seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Walter Haitz. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Pastor Rick Schubert. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
