Jane Donohue Obituary

Jane Ann Glennon Donohue, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025. Jane was born in Queens, New York and was a daughter of the late Maurice and Katherine Glennon. She was one of eleven children born to Maurice and Katherine. Jane graduated from Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School and later graduated from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing. She then started a career in nursing. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, her late husband of 60 years, Thomas J. Donohue. They were married in 1961 and had five children. Jane is survived by her children and their spouses, Thomas (Faye) Donohue, Gene (Pam) Donohue, MaryEllen (David) Cervetti, Stephen (Toni) Donohue and Pat (Tess) Donohue; sister, Grace Glennon O'Hare; and two brothers, Kenny Glennon and Jimmy Glennon. Jane was also loved dearly by her 15 grandchildren, Jennifer, Katie, Ryan, Stephen, Elizabeth, Regan, Connor, Kara, Emma, Matthew, John, Jasmine, David, Olivia and Aidan. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by seven of her brothers, Maurice, Jack, Dick, Billy, Marty, Gene and Donald Glennon. The Recitation of the Rosary and Vigil will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will immediately follow from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital Friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Jane with the family by clicking on the button labeled "Share A Memory."
