James Seay Obituary

James David Seay, 100 years and 7 months young, husband of the late Katrine Heath Seay, passed away September 11, 2025. A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Lowell Dean and Victoria Selena Gosnell Seay, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, a retired employee of Milliken, and a member of Apalache Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, James Rodney Seay and his wife, Susan of Chelsea, Alabama; a daughter, Sherry Jon Copeland and her husband, Victor of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Caroline Seay Long and her husband, Hayden, James Carson Seay and his wife, Maddie, Jonathan Phillip Elliott, and Zachary "Zach" David Turner; and great-grandchildren, Amelia Long, Darcy Long, Cooper Long, and William Robert Seay. He was predeceased by a brother, Buck and five sisters, Casey, Doris, Vivian, Margaret, and Marie. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Apalache Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Butch Howard.
