Jack Pfister Obituary

Jack Philip Pfister, 19, passed away at home on June 25, 2025. Born in Greenville, Jack is the cherished son of Ryan and Terri Pfister and the loving brother of his sister, Sarah. He adored his grandparents; Phil Pfister, Patty Armstrong, and Donald Newton. He was lucky to live his entire life also surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jack showed compassion for all, was a loyal friend, and found a way to connect and bond with everyone. He made friends wherever he went and genuinely cared about every person he met or knew. Jack had the biggest heart and could make anyone smile! He was only nineteen years old, but in those years, he made so many lives brighter and more positive. So many loved and protected Jack. On the basketball court, he was tenacious and showed grit that did not waver. He loved his dogs, Rosie and Sunny, listening to Morgan Wallen, and watching NBA games. In elementary school, his classmates voted Jack: "Most likely to become President of the United States." Jack was a 2024 graduate of Greer Middle College where he had a significant impact on and off the basketball court. For 4 years, he was a starting Varsity player on the GMC basketball team leading to numerous school records. We will all remember when he scored his 1000th point and earned his 1000th rebound. After high school, Jack spent his freshman year at Greensboro College, playing collegiate basketball and majoring in accounting. He had plans to attend Piedmont College this upcoming fall and was excited to continue his basketball career there. ~~~ Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." In other words, don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. Jack accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on April 30, 2016, and was baptized on a beautiful sun-filled morning outside at Covenant Church. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We have peace knowing Jack is with the One he loved the most. ~~~ A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday July 2, 2025, at Covenant Church conducted by Rev. Darren Hook. Jack would want us all to be comfortable together, so during this special time, please feel free to dress casually. His burial will be held on Thursday July 3, 2025, at Greenville Memorial Garden. Visitation will be held 10:30a.m. -12:15 p.m., Wednesday July 2, 2025, in the welcome center at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greer Middle College Athletic Department, 138 W. McElhaney Road, Taylors SC 29687. Online condolences may be made to www.thewoodmortuary.com.
