Jack Dalton Obituary

Jack Douglas Dalton, beloved husband, father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, brother- and son- in- law, coworker, and friend, died July 27, 2025, and immediately flew into the arms of Jesus, his Savior. Jack's winsome personality and beautiful smile warmed the hearts of all fortunate enough to bask in their light. He had a quirky sense of humor, was a joke player extraordinaire, and many innocents were the unsuspecting targets of his playfulness. He was talented in so many areas, a standout star athlete from his Palmetto High School days, an artist who saw the world from a unique perspective, and a golf course superintendent and irrigation specialist who threw himself into the work of creating beauty and order. Jack had the gift for problem solving, even with the most random and unconventional materials he happened to have at hand. The stories of some of the hilarious scrapes he got himself into are the subject of family legends. He had a generous heart and would respond to those in need without expecting anything in return. Jack is survived by his wife of 18 years, Caroline Dalton; their children, Chloe, Stella, and Jonah Dalton; parents Lee and Tammy Dalton; brother Brad Dalton (Annie); nieces and nephews Isaac, Audrey, Katie, Savannah, and Gavin Dalton; Grandfather Mr. Joe Burton; and an extended family and in-law family who are all grieving his loss. He was predeceased by his brother, Jeffery Dalton. Our consolation comes from the words of the Lord Jesus Himself, "My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14: 2-3 With an assurance such as this, we know that, though painful now, all mourning will be turned into joy as each of us pass from this life to the next. So, we wait to see the man Jack, who has been redeemed in the presence of his Lord and sees what we all long to see, love and light and perfect, perfect peace. A Celebration of Life will be held for Jack Monday, August 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at the Thomas McAfee Northwest Chapel, with the Reverend Curtis Dubose officiating. Please join us as we honor this man who meant so much to so many. We love you, Jack Dalton.
