Helen Duncan Obituary

Helen Louise Duncan, 96, beloved wife of the late Jack Duncan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Irene Francis Lee.
Helen was a proud graduate of Parker High School, humorously referring to her diploma as her "PhD." Her strong work ethic and dedication were evident throughout her life, from her early days as a bookkeeper for A&P to her long and meaningful career as the food service manager at Armstrong Elementary School, where she touched the lives of many children and staff until her retirement.
A faithful and devoted member of Berea First Baptist Church, Helen served tirelessly in the church's food and events ministry, joyfully coordinating meals and gatherings that brought the congregation together. Her passion for cooking extended beyond church walls, as she found great joy in preparing meals for her family, creating cherished memories around the table.
Helen also had a deep love for working in her yard and took great pride in maintaining her home. But nothing brought her greater happiness than her grandchildren, whom she adored. She treasured every moment with them and found immense fulfillment in her role as grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Helen is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Anderson (Terry); her cherished grandchildren, Brent Anderson (Melissa), Christopher Anderson (Michelle), Rannon Owens, and Lee Duncan; daughter-in-law, Pam Duncan; great-grandchildren, Evan Anderson, Frank Anderson (Jenna), Stacie Anderson, Kayrah Anderson, Amelia Anderson, and Caitlin Rose; and great-great-grandsons, Isaac Anderson, Caedan Anderson, Justin Duncan, and Jacob Duncan.
In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Anderson; her sons, Terry Duncan and Tony Duncan; and her brothers, Roy Lee and Charles Lee.
Helen's life was a legacy of love, service, and family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berea First Baptist Church, 529 Farrs Bridge Rd, Greenville, SC 29611.
