Gladys Cooper Obituary

Gladys Jones Cooper, 83, wife of the late Jerry Randolph Cooper, passed away September 8, 2025. A native of Greer, daughter of the late J.W. and Louise Bailey Jones, she was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Surviving are two children, Tammy Powell (Monty) and Tina Rainey (Keith); a sister, Dora Mae Graydon; four grandchildren, Nikki Steinmeyer (Chris), Rocky Rainey (Christen), Amanda Odom (Adam), and Rusty Rainey (Madison); seven great-grandchildren Jazmine Green (Austin), Jacob Rainey, Avery Odom, Emery Odom, Grant Steinmeyer, Brooks Rainey, and Beau Rainey; and special friends, Nancy Whitener and Jewel Fowler. Mrs. Cooper was predeceased by two sisters, Doris Taylor and Catherine Ross. A graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. September 10, 2025, at Hillcrest Memory Gardens conducted by Dr. Keith Kelly. The family will be at her home. Pallbearers will be Rocky Rainey, Rusty Rainey, Chris Steinmeyer, Adam Odom, Randy Fowler, Everett Beeks, Gene Fowler, and Dean Fowler. Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 401 South Main Street, Greer, South Carolina 29650 or Caris Hospice, 111 Smith Hines Road D, Greenville, South Carolina 29607.
