Geraldine Killian Obituary

Geraldine "Jerry" S. Killian, of Greenville, was born at home on Weston Street in Fountain Inn on December 1, 1930, and died on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. She was the widow of Ware Lafayette Killian, Jr. Mrs. Killian was a daughter of the late T. David & Evelyn Cox Sloan and was a graduate of Winthrop University. Jerry was a homemaker, but she did enjoy working at Carolina Furniture & Interiors for a number of years. She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fountain Inn and volunteered at Hillcrest Hospital. Her hobbies were bridge, reading, and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Steve (Nancy) Killian, Julie (Berry) Garrett, and Caroline (Dan) Gold; eight grandchildren, Manning (Courtney) Garrett, Margaret Garrett, Sloan (Christina) Garrett, Jane Killian, Carol Killian, James (Jess) Killian, Ben (Elizabeth) Gold, and David Gold; five great-grandchildren, Waverly, Cora, Mary Oliver, and Willa Garrett and Walker Killian; and one sister, Mary (Charles) Buice. Mrs. Killian was preceded in death by two brothers, David Sloan and Bobby Sloan. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Cannon Byrd Funeral Home – Fountain Inn, 1150 N. Main St, Fountain Inn, SC 29644. The graveside service will be private for the family in Cannon Byrd Memorial Park.
