Geneva Nichols Obituary

Geneva Hindman Nichols, 85, entered into eternal rest on April 17, 2026.

A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Calvester and Bernice Barnett Hindman, she was a homemaker and managed the day-to-day operations of the family business, Lamar Nichols Sanitation. Geneva grew up in the Greer Church of God where she used her beautiful alto voice as a member of the choir. She was also a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God.

She leaves behind two sons, Marion Nichols (Janice) of Greer, and Eugene Nichols (Kimberli) of Campobello; a daughter, Laura Carroll (Doug) of Greer; four grandsons, Wesley Nichols, Ethan and Cole Carroll, and Justin Kirby; two granddaughters, Blake Crisp and Caitlin Byrd.

She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Clarence Lamar Nichols; an infant son, David Lamar Nichols; five brothers, George Hindman, Edgar Hindman, Olin Hindman, Allen Hindman, and Kenneth Hindman; and five sisters, Doris Barbary, Naomi Netto, Clara Belle McCoy, Blanche Thomason, and Eva Boykin.

Visitation will be held 12:30–1:45 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026, at Praise Cathedral Church of God.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026, at Praise Cathedral Church of God, 3390 Brushy Creek Road, Greer, South Carolina, conducted by Pastor Jerry Madden, Rev. Doug Carroll, and Dr. Tommy Harvey. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Carroll, Russell Snow, David Bryant, Carroll Nichols, Michael Goodson, and Eric Nichols.

Bob Raines will serve as an honorary escort.

The family would like to recognize Sheila Klein for her loving care and dedication and a special thank you to the staff at Brushy Creek Post Acute.
