Gayle Hynds Obituary

Gayle G. Hynds, 82, loving wife of George P. Hynds III, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 13, 2025. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late C.K. and Mary Louise Grant. She met the love of her life, George, at North Fulton High School in Atlanta. After graduating from North Fulton, Gayle attended Vanderbilt University. Upon her graduation from Vanderbilt, she married George and started her working career in the trust department of an Atlanta bank. After several years of marriage, she and George welcomed their first child Keith, followed two years later by their second son Greg. Gayle taught kindergarten at Heiskell Christian School for many years in Atlanta during the boys' childhood, and then finished her working career at Ronald Blue & Company (now Blue Trust), a financial consulting company in Atlanta. While not working, Gayle enjoyed spending time with her family, family vacations, reading her Bible, praying, attending church, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, reading novels, doing crosswords, and sharing puns with her grandkids. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Greg (Alison) Hynds of Simpsonville; daughter-in-law Emily Hynds of Birmingham; grandchildren Mason (Kaitlin) Hynds, Morgan Hynds, Hannah (AJ) Hynds, and Joshua Hynds; sister Jackie (Clyde) Mynatt of Atlanta; sister Janace (Bill) Grigsby of Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Keith Hynds. A private burial service is planned for the family.
