Gavin Hogan Obituary

Patrick "Gavin" Galvin Hogan, III, passed away July 28, 2025. A native of Columbus, Mississippi, the son of the late Patrick Galvin Hogan, Jr. and Dorothy Fuqua Hogan, he was a graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, was a retired employee of Met Life, member of North Hills Church, and had a long term association with Covenant Methodist Church through the gospel group, Sweet Spirit, where he sang bass. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Jane Mathis Hogan, of the home; three daughters, Megan Cureton (Marquis), Erinn Hipp (Alex Verdea), and Kaitlin Hogan (Ken Neely); one sister, Hunter "Vixen" Hogan; and eight grandchildren, Kayla, Justin, Andrew, Elijah, Katherine, Everly, Benji and Violet. He was predeceased by a sister, Beth Hogan Medrano. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to WMIT Radio Station, PO Box 159, Black Mountain, NC 28711. The family will be at the home.
