Gale Burroughs Obituary

Gale Ophelia Burroughs, 86, widow of William "Bill" Brewer Burroughs, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Born in Anderson, she was the oldest of five children of the late Jesse Leon Bowen and Vermell Elizabeth Crenshaw Bowen. Gale attended Simpsonville High School and graduated from Greenville High School in 1958. She was a cheerleader and a member of JHA. Gale began her first job at Emery's 5 & 10 and went on to work at Meyers Arnold, Her Majesty, and Wilson Sporting Goods before retiring from Kemet. She married Russell B. Keller in 1960 and they had four children. Gale is survived by three sons, Michael Keller, Matt Keller, and Monteith Keller; a daughter, Maria Neal; six grandchildren, Lucas Neal, Jessica Neal, Casey Keller, Stacey Keller, Michael Keller, and Michelle Kellar; eight great grandchildren; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ken Bowen and Steve Bowen; and two sisters, Toni Ebert and Stanley McCall. A graveside service will be held at Greenville Memorial Gardens on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
