Fred Thomas Obituary

Fred Thomas, 84, husband of Sandra Jean Bayne Thomas for 64 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Mr. Thomas was born in South Carolina to the late Lloyd Alvin Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Morrow Thomas. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Fred retired from Michelin and went on to work for Anderson Metals and Covidien. He was a lifelong cyclist – including bicycles and motorcycles – and a proud member of the Emerald City Riders Wing Chapter 7. Fred enjoyed trips to the beach, camping and traveling the US with Sandra. He coached Little League Baseball and served as a Den Master for the Boys Scouts of America. Fred never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a sister, Mary Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Thomas and Jenna Godfrey; and four great-great-grandchildren, Nicole, Railyn, Princeton, and Esi. He was predeceased by a son, Jeff Thomas; and a grandson, Matt Thomas. A celebration of Fred's life will begin at 3:30 PM Thursday at Cross Roads Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials in Fred's honor may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W.
