Florence Harvey Obituary

Mary Florence Roper Harvey, 86, devoted wife of Joe Harvey for over 68 years, peacefully passed away on Thursday November 27, 2025, at home.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Timothy Aaron and Julia Ainslie Felder Roper. She was a proud 1957 graduate of Greenville High School.
Florence was an active member of Taylors First Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher and choir member for numerous years. She also remained connected with family and friends at Overbrook Baptist Church. In addition to clerical jobs over the years, she served as a substitute teacher with Greenville County Schools for over 30 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Katherine (Kathy) Harvey of Greenville, SC, and Miriam Tinsley (Harry) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Heather Taylor (Chris), Joshua Dill, Timothy Dill, Ainslie Griffin (Edwin), and Justine Quattlebaum (Justin); many great-grandchildren; and brother, Billy Roper.
In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Dill, and grandson, Andrew Dill.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Rd, Simpsonville, SC.
